The truetype fonts especially arial bold are not sharp like bitmapped on the screen. When you print on word document, the text are fine and sharp. Does anybody know why and what can I do to make this fonts sharp on the screen?

Have you tried changing your refresh rate and screen resolution? Certain screens espcially older display the picture weird on certain screen resolutions.

To change the resolution right click anywhere on your desktop (not on an icon) chose properties, now click settings.

Now change your screen resolution if you have an older screen I would try 800x600 or 640x480. If its a bit newer you could try 1024x768 or if you have a screen bigger than 19" you could try 1280*1024. If you have other resolutions listed in between these they are the ones that sometimes depending on screen and graphichs card gets displayer weird and out of proportion.

Once you set a size that you are happy with the next step is to change the refresh rate which also can affect the picture quality.

Click on the advanced tab on the screen where you set screen size.

Click on monitor and set your refresh rate, if you are using a flatscreen a refresh of 60hz might be good enough. If you change it to something that the screen can't handle don't press anything just wait 15 seconds and it will revert back to the old setting.
