Hi,

I had to reinstall my win 98 SE and I put the shutdown fix on from Microsoft because it was hanging. It gave a fatal exception upon reboot that read:fatal exception OE has occurred at the address: 0167: BFF*CC32

I chose to "hit any key and continue"

it continued the reboot and started fine.

I tested the shutdown fix and it worked the first time after that initial reboot. The reason I am writing is because this is the second time I had to put the same shutdown fix on. I was wondering if someone knows a more stable fix. I have done extensive research and am still looking for something stable.

I know about checking msconfig and regedit.
I was considering working with applog deletion.

let me know if you have a great idea!
thank you kindly,
PTT :)
