Win 98 or Win ME Which one to have Helpless in Hershey

Please help have brand new AMD Thunderbird 1Ghz brand spanking new system. With Windows ME, Constantly freezes up while on net, and freezes up during play of Media Player. Should i forget i got ME and go with Win 98. Man does this Computer stuff piss me off.

Freezing up on Media Player. Would that be audio or video. Depending on which, update to latest drivers (from manufacturer website) on video and sound card, and down the line.

Read the "Major problems with Win ME" post in this forum. Most people agree that WinME is not as stable as Win98SE, so I would go with the masses!..

not enuff info to diagnose or attempt to fix or advise re op sys

what isp is freezing on net? have u checked for viruses?
what kind of connection? etc

but as general rule, i like 98 better, but if computer stuff hoses your mood, me is more suited as it does more for you....

Same old question......How much ram have you got?...How many apps have you got running on startup?.....so on and so on.......Try reducing startup apps. Also does anti-virus software sometimes does this. You haven't overclocked the processor have you? anyone any other ideas?
