Run Win98SE with 512 Meg of RAM.
Last week I start getting problems with Internet Explorer.
If I go to a website that has a long page and lots of graphics, it will not load completely. Some of the graphics at the end of the page would not display.
If I click on a link it will not open up another window, or if it does it will not completely display the whole page.
I have closed all the other applications and run Internet by itself and it would run a little better but I cannot open too many apps, but it never tells me I am running out of memory. I have not installed any new software in the last 6 months. I have run several different spyware problems, didn't find much spyware. It appears that win98 is not handling the memory access correctly. Itcould be a rouge program running in the background taking uip all the RAM. I have plenty od hard disk space. I have deleted all temp files and Internet temp files and cookies, etc and run defrag and the problem would not go away. Short of formatting the whole drive and re-install win98. Unfortunately I might lose a very important program if I do that. I lost the registration key and I would have to pay for a new one.
Any advice or suggestions would be most welcome. Thanks.

BTW, I'm running Internet explorer 6.0 and all the updates for my win 98 are current.

smah, Thanks for the link. I tried it and it seems to help for a short time and then it is back. It seems that Win98 cannot clear its memory cache or something. I can reboot and it would work for a few minutes.

Lemon13, Thanks for that link.
Interesting!! After installing the freemem software, I notice that I still have plenty of RAM, (at least 280MEG) after loading a couple of programs including Internet Explorer. I went to a page that is quite full and it would not display all the graphics or links but it showed that I still have 276 MEG free and I could easily increase more RAM as needed, but the page is displayed fully and I still cannot open new apps.
Any other suggestions?
