I believe if you just hit the start button, along the left side will state the version. If there is nothing there, right-click the taskbar and go to properties. Uncheck the show small icons in startup. Then try it again.
Also, right click my computer, go to Manage. The click on System Information and then System Summary.

the 1st one will not work while terminaling into the server. But the second one worked great.
