I presently have a small riddle that i would deeply appreciate some advice with!
For a joke, one of my daughters young friends added a file to our Win 2K machine, causing it to do the following:
When the machine is started it goes through the post test, past the black loading screen, then to the blue "Windows is starting up" screen. At this point a dialogue box with a heading and a small amount of text appears with an ok button positioned at the bottom. The machine will boot no further until the button is clicked. When its clicked the machine progresses to the sign on box and goes forward as normal. Whilst not intended as malicious, its very annoying and i would like to remove it asap!
I tried some changes in the MsConfig area but no luck.
Any advice greatly appreciated
Steve

If it is what I think, it can be fixed in the registry. Start regedit and navigate to HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\Winlogon.
If there is value data for LegalNoticeText and LegaNoticeCaption, delete the values and reboot.

Thanks, will try it. The young man actually mounted a box titled "i Love You!" and in small point characters within the box was the girls name. Very funny 8 months later when it is still there........:)
Appreciate your advice and will let you know

Hi Frank
Just a short note to say you were spot on. It cured the fault and I appreciate your time.
Many Thanks
Steve
