I have a Windows 2000 PC that is acting very peculiar and I think that their TCP/IP Protocol Stack needs to be rebuilt.

Sorry, posted too soon. Anyway, I was wondering if it is possible to use the winsock fix on a 2000 machine.

TIA

Carrie

If you mean this one: faq779-4625, then yes

That's the one. Thanks

Yes,

And to clarify things: it adapts how it does things based on the OS version. What it will do for Windows XP is quite a different approach than what it would take for Win2k, or Win9x versions.

For Win2k, for example, it makes a .reg file change for 160kb of registry changes.

sma referred you to my FAQ: faq779-4625 and you may want to read the MS links near the bottom.

And I take the opportunity every chance I can to thank Option ^Explcit for the repair tool. Thanks, CableInstaller.
