will webbrowser work if IE isn't installed

i think the answer is no and i just found some useful wininet funtions to do the same thing witout the browser issue..

No Doubt it will work but when you are building a package include shdocvw.dll with it then only it will work perfectly .

right, i was thinking of doing that. but will that work even if the user doesn't have internet explorer installed? i was under the impression form the microsoft folks that you have to liscense and redistribute the setup.exe file for IE. (read

is this just hogwash to get people to install their latest browser? wouldn't suprise me.
