The Oracle 8i install CD I have says its for Windows 2000/NT. Will I be able to set it up on a Windows 2003 Server?

According to metalink.oracle.com, no:

"Oracle does not plan to provide certification or support of Oracle8 or the Oracle8i Database Server components on Windows 2003."

Thanks bi. I was wondering if someone has actually done this to see if it even works (I suspect it does).

You are right that a lot of uncertified configurations will actually work in practice, but why take a chance? If you have to upgrade the O/S or move to a new server, it's a good chance to get to a current DBMS release. If you don't, sooner or later something will break, and then you'll be stuck in an unsupported configuration with no one to help you.
