We are experiencing a really strange problem that I am hoping someone out there has seen before and found a solution to.

We have a lot of year to date reports that are scheduled to run over night - they all run correctly. however, some of them are rather large.

When you open some of the larger ones the report opens ok but when it is reopened an error occurs

BOException caught:RESULT=80004005;WHAT=Invalid blob id (Error: INF )

What I have found is that when the report is first opened from the repository it creates a wid file in cache. However, these large files are creating a wid file in cache with a size of 0kb. Then when you try to reopen the file it attempts to access the wid file in cache and produces the above error. If you delete the empty wid file from cache the report again opens (presumably from the repository) and it opens fine but again it produces a 0kb wid file in cache that causes the problem to occur the next time the file is opened.

The strange thing here is that it isnt always size specific - it manages to create some wid files in cache that are say 150mb but one that was say 130mb it may have trouble with. In the main it is the larger files but I have noticed that it can occur with smaller files.

The cache area is accessible to BO and there is 130GB of free space for it to write these files to cache.

Any pointers as to what could be the problem here would be really appreciated.

TIA
