I am looking for the crossover for two 25 pin serial ports on a 2600 CISCO

Thanks

Let me elaborate and see if this is possible or if there is something special I need to set:

I have 2 2600's. One has a FastEthernet and a WIC 1T. The other has a FastEthernet and a WIC 2T. I have the ethernet set to two subnets. I am trying to connect the serial ports from each router using a crossover cable to test the routing between the two subnets. I get a brief up up on the serial ports, then it goes down. I have them set HDLC.

Any suggestions or insight would be appreciated.

did you set the clock rate??

also you need to make sure you have the correct cables, so that one side will be set to dte and the other set to dce

if you do a show interface on those serial ports, it'll tell you if its in DCE or DTE mode..

bluedragon2,

You will need to do a show controllers to see which is the DCE and which is the DTE if the cables are not marked.

I just checked on my 2611 and with show interface I did not see DCE or DTE listed, at least with show controlers the DCE or DTE is right at the top of the information.

You will want to put the clock rate on the DCE end only.

If you have HDLC on both ends it should work fine.

I hope this helps!!!
