Why will my ASP pages not work?

I m beginner & i m in running an W2k server. After installing IIS and configuring a virtual directory as "

http://wwwroot/myweb/"

I m trying to browse the iisstart.asp file but IE cannot open it! where can i find some info for beginners? What am i doing wrong?

Sorry if this is too-basic of a response, but since I've seen beginners do this a lot I want to make certain.

Assuming the iisstart.asp file is actually in your "myweb" directory, you should be trying to access in your browser as:

[URL unfurl="true"]http://localhost/myweb/iisstart.asp[/URL]

and not opening it directly from the file system.
