Hi,

For a few of my controls on a form I entered information on the control in the ControlTip Text property field. When I run the form I must right click and wait till the text appears on screen. I beleived that text would automatically appear while hovering over the control. Am I missing a step or is this the way Access displays Control Tips?

How are ya keysol . . . . .

Your right, normally you can just hover above the control. But if the control is say . . . . on a subform, then it wont work unless the subform has the focus.

I've had a similar problem where the tips do not show in a list box!

I was just searching for help with this same problem when the solution hit me.

If you have a rectangle or any other type of box around your controls, often your controltip text won't show up. This is because even though your controls are visible to you, Access sees that the box is on top (because you have selected a transparent 'Back Style' for your box).

Simply select the box, go to 'Format' on the main Access menu bar and select 'Send to Back'
