I have a form in datasheet view which is linked toa partassign table with assigns parts to sales items. On this form, I have a combo box that has part numbers which is populated by a part table... When the combo box loses focus, it looks up a part description and populates a text box with the description.

Now, if the text box is unbound, all the text boxes change. if it is bound, then only the text box of the record being edited is changed....

Why? I don't want this text box to be bound because the part descriptions should only be in the part table to remain normalized.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

It's standard behaviour for unbound control in the detail section of a continuous form.
You may consider joining the part description table in the underlaying query and thus bind the text box without breaking normalization.

Hope This Helps, PH.
