Hello,
I had O/E 5 and upon opening it moved my folder files (inbox, outbox, sent items, deleted items etc.) to my desktop (I have NT 5.0). I could not put them back and if I deleted them it sent another copy to the desktop. Recently I upgraded to Internet Explorer 6 amd O/E 6 came with it. It does the same thing. I searched these messages but couldn't fine anyone else with this problem. Help!

Hi,

Firstly find out where the mail should be going.

Go into Document & Settings\Your Username\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities and note the next subdirectory. Should be something like {5A1C3F0A-CCAE-478D-8467-C9EFA9AEB837}.

Now run REGEDIT and go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Identities\that random bit\Software\Microsoft\Outlook Express\5.0 (or 6.0). Edit the STORE ROOT key to read the directory you noted ie.

%UserProfile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{5A1C3F0A-CCAE-478D-8467-C9EFA9AEB837}\Microsoft\Outlook Express
HTH

Ash.
