CVS or CSV...?

CSV (Comma Separated Values) is used mostly when you want a Flat File for delivery to an external 3rd party for IMPORT into their applications.

I have use it in the past for delivering customer data to our outside mailing house for marketing purposes.

Or do you mean CSV (comma separated variables)?

I use 8.5 Developer and do not have a CVS option for my export.

For me, it was easier to export to CSV option over Excel.

My users haven't complained yet. All they have to do is double click on the CSV file and presto, they're in Excel. If they want to manipulate the data and save it, Excel will force them to save it as an Excel spreadsheet of their own, thereby preserving the CSV file for other users to do what they want.

Cheers,
-LW
