Why does start menu advanced customise not show all?

Why does start menu advanced customise not show all?

How come when I go Start > Programs, I have a big list of all my applications.

However when I goto Control Panel > Taskbar and Start Menu Properties and choose Advanced it only shows SOME of the Programs that are actally in the list?

right-click the Start Button and choose either Open or Explore All Users.

What user are you logged on as? You may be seeing only the programs that are in the logged on users start menu folder.
