Why does my database ask for passwd to close?

Look at the options carefully and make sure you don't have the password protect option turned on .

I looked in the tools/options but there is nothing in any of the tabs about passwords. I am using Access 2000. There is a set password option under tools and that is what I used to set the password.
My problem is not that the database is password protected (I want it to be). My problem is that when I CLOSE the database, it is asking for a password. I only want it to ask for a password when the database is opened.
