Why do my documents open twice? 1

Hey all,

I recently had a serious problem and had to reload all the software in my computer (a fresh install of everything from Windows 2000 Pro on up). Now, every time I open a document in Word the document either opens twice (two open instances of the document) or I get a message asking if I want to revert to the saved version of the document. Any ideas on what setting I can tweak to avoid this?

my guess: something corrupt in registry

fix is easy

go to Start, Run, and type "winword /r" (without the quotes).

and if u r having probs with excel, again go to Start, Run and type "excel /regserver" (without quotes)

u may need to type the full path name if this doesn't recognize the command
