Why do I have to save file if...........? 2

Hi, using IDCS4 on win xp

Question: Why do I have to save file if the file has already been saved? I get prompted to save the file when i am closing the file or program even though it has been saved.

P.S. Not a big deal, just annoying as other Adobe programs don't show this behavior.

It shouldn't do that? Is it just one file in particular or all files, old and newly created?

Yes, it is with all files. Old and new. I know - weired. Nikky

Try reset your preferences. Start indesign and hold down CTRL ALT SHIFT and follow the prompt onscreen.

Of course it will.

But you should save your shortcuts first.

You simply reload them when finished restoring your preferences.

Ok, maybe stupid question, but How do I separately save them to upload later.

I went into program files >adobe > presents > Indesign shortcut sets > en but don't see mine.

Users/[username]/Library/Preferences/Adobe InDesign/[version]/[language]/InDesign Shortcut Sets

...you can also move your custom sets to the application folder > presets > indesign shortcut sets > {language} folder...

...ensure you have unique named sets, so they don't clash with any that reside in the default location...
