Why do I get an authentication dialog?

I know absolutely nothing about DNS. I have a VPS on which I host my website. I want to put a couple more sites up on the same box, but as my VPS can't use Plesk (issues with PDF creation components) I have to set it up manually. Now, I can do the website stuff, adn I was very helpfully helped out creating the DNS for one of the new sites by someone in my hosts support dept. They won't help anymore as DNS is not supported (helpfully).

So, here's the crux of it. I've setup the DNS for the second domain by copying the one that they setup for me. The domain resolves, but it asks for login credentials. If I enter the correct domain account details it will go to the holding page. Obviously, as this should be a public site, I don't want the login box.

Can anyone explain what I would have done wrong?

The domains are daytonfoster.co.uk (working) and nylefoster.co.uk (not working).

Well, you seem to have a several DNS problems

http://www.intodns.com/nylefoster.co.uk

However, the logon prompt is coming from the IIS webserver at

http://www.nylefoster.co.uk

and has nothing to do with dns.

Ah, OK. So it looks like I knew less about the internet stuff than I thought What did I do wrong in the IIS config then? It looks identical to the config for daytonfoster.co.uk and that works fine.

As for the results of intodns, according to the support guys for my vps, the nameserver than doesn't respond is fine (quite how it's fine, I don't know) but it works, so I'm less concerned about this. The one that worries me is the recursive queries. How do I stop that???
