Why can I not record 80 audio CD-R's with my HP CD-RW?

I have a HP 8250i CD-RW that will make 74 min disks with no problem, but will not allow me to make 80 disks. If I ask it to make a copy from an existing 80 disk, it will, but it will put a 2 second gap between the songs. Not good for a live album. Is this a software or hardware problem?

Who makes an 80 minute CD Recorder? I've been looking for one too. [sig][/sig]

I am using 80 min CDR's but when I try and load 80 minutes worth of music into Adaptec CD Creator, it gives me a note that the CD is 6 minutes overtime, and will not start the burning process. However if I take a Commercial CD that is 80 minutes, and using an 80 minute CDR, and ask it to make a copy of the disk, it will, but it will leave a 2 second gap between the songs which is bad for CD's with auto seques.

I think there are some software which allows you to use the 80 min cdr on any cd-writer
