Why are shortcuts turning to print only?

Hi folks,

I have the same problem on two pc's, one being 2000 the other XP. On both, I view a web page and decide to save a link to the desktop but when I go to re-open it from the shortcut it only gives the the option to print!!!! The properties show no URL info at all.... What has gone wrong???
