where is the best place to get a basic compiler for qbasic 4.5

Do a Google search and you'll find quite a few sites that offer that.

Just to straighten things a bit, compiler is included in QB4.5 and accessible via menu (like, "Make EXE" or something like that)

Make exe is under the 'Run' menu option.
