Where is the version number stored?

Hi there

I need to fool my system to believe that MSSQL is running at a lower Service Pack than it actually is (Make it believe it is sp 3a and not 4)

My hope is that I can manipulate this information in one of the Master tables, and if so - which one?

I dont think it stores the information in any Master tables, I think its actual versions of DLLS and EXEs etc.
SELECT @@VERSION
and extended stored procedure xp_msver I think effectively query properties of these Dlls
