We have our computers at home networked. When I reboot my PC does not give me
a logon screen but boots to my desktop. I lose access to some of my dialups and to
our home network. If I "Log Off" I then get a "Log On" dialog that lets me join the network. Why am I not getting the Logon when I boot?

If your using Win9x:

* right-click network neighborhood and choose properties
* double-click "Client For Microsoft Networks"
* change it from "quick logon" to "Logon and restore network connections"
* hit OK
* make sure under Primary Network Logon, it says "Client For Microsoft Networks"
* hit OK and reboot

quick logon is usually selected to remember your login without hassling you for a password prompt each time you restart your pc...

cdogg's suggestion should work OK, if not:

backup the registry and/or export the following keys:
go to Start>Run, type regedit. Navigate to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Network\Logon

Right-click on the Logon key, choose new>DWORD value, name it MustBeValidated. Right-click on that, choose modify and type in the value to 01 00 00 00.
