Where does Outlook 2000 store the downloaded mail

I got a harware failure on my bootpartition.I was`nt able to fix it. So I had to install Win XP on another disk. Now I can browse the old harddrive. But I dont know where my mail file(s) is. I have to old backups *.pst. But they are serveal month old. So my mail is in some other file with another file extention.

Someone who can help me?

If it is Outlook (not Express) and stored locally, it will be in a .pst file. You may need to search through hidden folders to find it. The only other possibility is an .ost file on the exchange server.

I have a similar problem, but I am using Express 6.

Where are downloaded files in Express? Is there one .pst file also or are there multiple ones?

If multiple, how do you backup?

OE uses multiple .dbx files (one for each folder). One of the best tools for backing up OE can be found here
