Hi,
One of my user's deleted two image files out of our shared folder. He was at a client station. Anything deleted doesn't go into the recycle bin after being deleted. Why is this? Where might it be? Is there any way to recover the images?

Thx,
Ryan

It's gone, you have to restore it from backup or use third party software. I forget the name, just search it on yahoo and install the trial.

So if you delete something out of a share why doesn't it go to the bin. Any setting to change this?

I don't believe that there is any work around on this. Windows Server 2003 does have some abilities in thie area. I believe the Client PC would have to be Win XP Pro and the Server has to be Windows Server 2003. I know they showed this during the announcement of Win 2003.

There are undelete programs that run on servers. Whenever anything is deleted from the server (even from a network share on a client) it will be put in a "recycle bin". But you have to monitor this bin often as it can grow in size quickly depending on how often files are being deleted.
