I am a newbie at cisco, well kinda, im an instructor and I am wondering where to get new IOS images for my routers, ive got 4 2500's and 1 2600. Do you have to get them thru cisco? Thanks

Hi Prizmm,

Basically if you have a CCO account for the Cisco website then you will be able to log into the CCO part and download any images for your routers.

The images are under Tech Support --> Software Centre --> Cisco IOS Software.

Under there you will find all the images for your routers.

What is and how do i get a CCo account, i read abou them earlier, but Im not quite sure where to start. Thanks again.

With CCO or a cisco.com account you get a login and password, so you can download images from cisco and find a lot of infomation with regards to their products. Go to and click on 'register new user' its free and 'a must' for people who use Cisco equipment.
