After upgrading from Win98 to Win XP, I lost the use of my USB Logitech Color Quickcam VC webcam. When I went to their web site, however, I discovered that they do not have a new driver for it. Are there other drivers that would work or am I SoL on this one?
Are there any win2k drivers or failing that winnt drivers for your webcam on logitach site? (either - 2k especially - more likely to work with XP than 98 or ME drivers). Have you tried the 98 drivers?
I would have used the Win98 drivers but IIRC, they simply didn't work on Win XP. When I looked for newer ones for this specific model (circa 1996), there were none. There are Win 2K and Win XP drivers for their other (newer) models but would they work for any webcam that was hooked up?
Originally I gave up and put it on a Win98 PC in the other room but it died last month.
I tried the generic driver from driverguide.com for "Logitech USP drive webcams" but it didn't work.
I noticed I had downloaded some other Logitech drivers but they warned me that they would only work for webcams connected to the parallel port. I think I tried to reinstal the original drivers but it either refused to instal or didn't work.
Looks like I'm going to have to sell the webcam on Ebay and either get a new one or b uy a vidcam (I hear you can hook them up like a webcam...)
Here are a few sites that might help you get the driver you need. You should set a restore point before installing any driver in case it turns out to be the wrong one & messes up your system.
