Where are the Offline Files???

Hi All,

Can anyone tell me where on a local system, offline files are stored (physiclaly). We cannot find them in Docs & Settings, and not in Temp. When you go to the Offline Files tab in folder properties, you can set a shortcut to your desktop, but loking at the properties of this shortcut do not offer any light either...

Click the Offline Files tab from Folder Options. Next, click View Files. The location of your Offline files is listed there. ex. \\SeverName\Offline Files

Hi Patty thanks, but that's not what I mean... the whole point of offline files is that offline files are kept "offline", hence local copies... I want to find these...

Offline files are stored in (for win2k/ie),

\documents and settings\<username>\local settings\temporary internet files

I see what you mean Will, but I can't find reference to any files that are 'offline' anywhere else. Even if the Server that houses the file you are accessing is shutdown...the only way I found to locate the file is by browsing My Network Places, and accessing it from there. (If you don't choose the option to put an Offline Files folder on your desktop). At any rate, the path to the file always shows as the network path. Go figure, it must be stored in a local location as well, but I can't find it.

That's alright Patty...
I really want to know though because someone here has lost some files, and we want to check to see if they are somewhere like the local copy of the offline files...
To StellaIndigo... sorry but you are mistaken... I have searched this directory and can find nothing that is in My Documents (the synchronised offline folder)
