What really means: "Associate Exchange mailbox with the EmailXtender service acount..."

I am reading manual and just not sure what they mean!? How do you associate it?

Thanks

This simply means that the service account you must create for EX must have its own mailbox. The reason for that is clearly stated in this paragraph from the Installation Guide:

2. Associate a Domino or Exchange mailbox with the EmailXtender service account.
This is used by EmailXtender to connect to the mail environment(s) and can be
used to receive alert and system messages.

Of course without a mailbox, this would not be possible.

Also, may i kindly ask you to create a new forum for a different product.

Great. Thank you!

Could you please also comment on this one. Do they mean to create another email account or I can use the same one I created for EX service account?

" 3. On the mail server, create an email account and (if you are using Microsoft Exchange) a MAPI profile for use on the mail client you will install on the EmailXtender server. The account is used to communicate with the mail server and should be an administrative account with full Domain Administrator, Exchange Administrator, and Service Account Administrator permissions. "

Also, it is unclear to me to which product "Service Account Administrator" belongs? To EX?

Thanks again

For the EX installation you have to create a new user, called "service account". This points to the fact that his account is used to run the EX services.

To do this, you may of course use an existing account. However, to not confuse the system, it is good practice to create a new one. This user must have
- Local Admin rights to be able to install the EX software
- Domain Admin rights are also needed
- Exchange Admin rights, because it modifies the Exchange system
If you want to use this account to collect all mails, it must have the rights to access all mailboxes.
