When setting up a new phone How can I get the Direct Line and internal extension?

F*0 will tell you what is programmed on each button, but you will have to assign a line to the set.

You will need to assign a target line for Direct inward dialing on a phone.

Select an unused target line..say line 160. Under line settings, program your recieved digits for this target line...for example, if the DID number is 555-1234 and the CO is sending out 3 digits, set your rec'd digits for 234.
This will send all calls going to 555-1234 to ring target line 160.
Set line 160 to appear and ring (or ring only) on the phone.


To find out what is on an exxisting phone, just work in reverse.
Look at the programming for your extension to find out what target line is assigned to it. Then check the programming on that line. Look at what the recieved digits are. If they are 234, and you have a DID range of 555-1000 to 555-1999, you will know that rec'd digits "234" must mean the DID number is 555-1234.
