when i run regedt32 the registry interface displays briefly then close

Hello

I got a virus in my win xp home edition computer.
I managed to clean the virus but now when i run regedt32 the registry interface opens but then it closes immediately by itself.

N.B: Registry opens fine in safe mode

Any idea how to fix this problem?

It sounds like the virus has not been completely removed yet.

1. Boot into Safe mode
2. Disable system restore
3. Run a full virus scan to ensure everything has been cleared with up to date antivirus and spyware checkers.
4. Look in MSConfig to remove any dodgy startup entries.
5. Reboot and check the PC works OK in normal mode.
6. When 4 and 5 are satisfied, re enable system restore.
