I'm going to be setting up folder redirection for 30 clients on a win2003 Ad domain through a GPO.
What I want to know is how and when will(if?) the clients existing My Docs etc will be 'copied' to the server.

I need to know so that I can schedule time to migrate or sync.

TIA.

they wont be copied, not automatically anyway. (as far as i know...)

not like when you go onto the MyDocs icon and change location, then it prompts you...
:/

if its not broken, fix it anyway - with luck you might break it and have an excuse

It happens on logout/login. It will then do the first copy.

The default for future syncing is when they logout.

In the GPO, you can set login/logout/time interval syncing.

I'll test that out one one machine thanks guys.
So hopefully if I stagger adding users to the OU that I'll create for this GPO to link to then I won't get a sudden splurge of copying to the server when everyone logs out/in?
Just don't want a sudden upsurge in traffic that the server can't handle.
