Hi
I have just built a new system for a client and it appears all is okay..everything loads and boots fine. However, after about one day when you turn on the system it stops durning the boot process and states that it cannot continue because a system 32 file is damaged or currupt. I can then restore the system using an image I had made and all appears fine but then about a day later you receive the same error. Does anyone have any suggestions on this problem and how I can fix it? I'm thinking maybe a hard drive problem. I built this system using an Asus A7vk33 motherboard..256 crucial ram, 850 athlon, a plextor 16x burner. The only thing that isnt new in this system is the harddrive that I formated and reused from the clients previous computer. Im sorry but I cannot recall the brand of the hard drive. If it is important I can get that for you.
thanks in advance

continued from above...

i was just reading the thread above this one regarding the blue screen stop error problem and in a way this is related or so it seems..I am wondering..if I was to move off the ata promise 100 and use the regular ide on the motherboard do you think this may correct the problem?
thanks again

Give it a shot. i have never been a fan of the Add on ATA cards. Also once you install the ATA100 card did you update windows with SP2? It has ata100 support in it. Win2K does not have ata100 support built in. James Collins

thanks for the imput, yes I did try that..and still no go...I had been having this problem on this build but now it seems to have gone another step further...it wont do anything now..no bios post at all..fans are running etc..I have taken out ram..videocard etc..trying to even get an error beep but still nothing.I have swapped out the video card, power supply etc..still no go.Im thinking this motherboard may have gone bad ..or the processor...any ideas from you would be appreciated..
thanks
