When a user clicks View/Headers and Footer his screen changes to the Outline view on the left and reduces the size of his document. When you make the document full size you lose the Header and Footer Toolbar. It only happens on his computer. When I open the same document on my computer it acts normal. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Office. How do I stop the screen from dividing like that?

try deleting or renaming normal.dot and start Word again. make sure u don't have more than 1 instance of normal.dot

Thanks for that idea. I usually do that, but didn't this time. I did try it and it made no difference even though there were 8 incidents of normal.dot on that computer! Any other ideas?
