Ok, I've played about with XP Home and am getting ready to throw the damned thing through the window trying to get PWS/IIS running... (It's a laptop, it should fly well...)

So...

Next question, what's best to run ASP with ADO database connections on a LOCAL machine?

I can dig up a Win98 machine and probably a disk to drop PWS onto it, or I might be able to put together a Win2k server machine although that will involve a hell of a lot more trouble on my part, and some expense that I didn't really want to spend.

But before I go through all this to set up a designated local server machine (that I can then network to my crap XP Home laptop), which method is best, and will either of them even handle ADO connections (to either an Excel Spreadsheet or Access DB) or am I wasting my time?

Please, please, please, any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated...

TIA,
T.C.
