Hi.

I'm trying to find a simple answer with no luck so far.

I'm using Access 2000. I have come across no db errors, but in my production directory I have db1.mdb, db2.mdb and db3.mdb all with last modified dates in the past. I realize these are part of the compact process which looks like it did not complete for one reason of another these 3 times. Can I just delete them?

I have 'compact on close' set on my db and I also go in about every other day with exclusive access and compact it from from the tools memu and have not gotten any errors.

Thanks.

I would first open them and make sure that they are indeed "compact gone wild" leftovers. Once you've identified them as non-production data, there should be no reason to keep them around.
