I'm sure this is a familiar problem: Too many people have admin rights on the servers, one of them decides to go optimize the server, turns off a bunch of stuff, and now something's broken.
What's broken in my case is that the Shadow Copy Components don't even show up in the backup selection list for the server anymore (Windows 2003). From Veritas' support site I've been led to believe that the Microsoft Software Shadow Copy Provider and Volume Shadow Copy services are required for shadow copy components backup, but there must be something else that's been disabled that's necessary, because the components still don't show in the selection list, even after starting those services and restarting the Backup Exec remote agent service.
Does anyone know what else I need?
Thanks,
Dave Farquhar
