OK here is what I have done

I have writen the database on my local machine I now wanted to transfer it to a networked drive by using the setup wizard and creating floppies for it and installed it to the network drive. When I made the floppies the database was checked out of visual sourcesafe.

I then ran the database from the networked drive and all seemed ok bar a message invalid dos path blah blah scrsafe.ini blah blah will run outside of source control. I then created the exe file without errors.

but when I double click on the exe file nothing happens at all I have copied over the vfp6r and vfp6renu.dll and doesn't work any light you can shed will be much appreicated.

Am panicing I may have screwed the whole thing up.

Thanks

Rachel

Hi
When I create an executable and want a quick work installation in a network...
1. I copy the DLLs vfp6r and vfp6renu.dll in the network directory where I want to install the software.
2. I also copy the executable generated
3. I create a directory for the data within the directory said above. Copy all the DataBase into it. My software takes care of stting the path to the default directory and the data diirectory within it by my code.
4. When I create the icon on teh desktop, I point to this network directory in the programme name. I also point the WorkingIn or StartIn place as the same directory. THIS ENABLES THE PROGRAMME TO BE DEFAULTED INTO THIS DIRECTORY AND RUN THE PROGRAMME.

Hope this is of help to you.
