What is the proper way to gracefully reboot an S8500?

I patched up my S8500, what is the proper way to gracefully shut it down and restart?
There are four LSPs, Audix LX and EMMC servers connected to it.

from the web interface choose 'shutdown server'. The next screen will give you a choice to restart.

Can this be done through the Linux prompt,
Autosat then next command reset system 4?

What is the difference between the two methods?
