My company is considering changing all of our branch offices over to the BCM50 switch. The problem is we do not mix our voice and data networks together and won't anytime soon. I'm wondering if the Nortel is capable of warm tranfers from location to location without having a WAN. If a customer in New York needs detailed information, his NY rep could warm transfer him to Miami where a team of experts could better handle the questions. This capablity would be needed at all sites. I'm guessing a network would have to be built to handle this but I need some input.

By warm tranfer I mean hitting a softkey and sending the call to a group or to an extension off-site. The caller never realizes he's being connected to someone who is miles and miles away.

you need a WAN between the locations - either IP based or TDM
is it being done now?

I was certain a network was needed but my question is does this PBX have the capablity to handle a configuration like that?
