I built computers for a living until about 7 or 8 months ago. When I started learning to program in VB, I let that go. DDRRam wasn't heard of when I quit building computers, or at least I hadn't heard of it.

I looked on the net to buy Ram and it said the PC-100 was 168Pin(I knew that) but the DDRRam was 184 pin. Since the Athlon uses DDRRam will it fit my mainboard in place of the PC-100??? I have an ASUS A7V with 133mhz support. The CPU is an Athlon 1000.

only the brand new SocketA boards support DDR SDrams, (DDR being Double Data Rate) .

it is said that DDR is faster than SDR, problem is in my opinion, since the Front side bus on the Athlon mother boards dont exceed 133Mhtz, having DDR Sdrams, is rather pointless, some of the SocketA Boards with the Ali Magik Chipset can support both DDR and SDR

but you'll find that most support SDR ,specially the older models. Karl Blessing aka kb244{fastHACK}

um that compares RDram (Intel specific) to DDR ram, not Sdram vs DDR Karl Blessing aka kb244{fastHACK}
