Does "L2 Switched" refer to regular VLAN switching within the same broadcast domain?
Does "L3 in Switched (or L3 out Switched)" refer to inter-VLAN routing to the MSFC and exceeded CEF FIB entries from the PFC/DFC?
Is there anything else I am missing here or confusing?
My understanding is that hardware forwarding decisions in the DFC/PFC will not be reflected under L3 or L2 switched under "show interface" Or does it? I thought that if there was traffic under "L3 in Switched" that indicates that traffic has been punted to the CPU, in this case the MSFC aka software-processed.
I am trying to dipcher what traffic is counted under "L2 Switched" and L3 in Switched (or L3 out Switched)". Any help would be great? Thanks in advanved
