PeopleSoft is a corporate level tool that provides a development environment AND application modules. In essence, a self-contained environment. It includes (pre-developed) application software modules for HR, payroll, etc but also proprietary development tools to develop within those many software modules.
There are two primary 'languages' SQR (for generating reports) and Peoplesoft code for programming events within 'panels' (similar to forms in vb). There is alot of SQL involved.
Unlike most software, you cannot just download it and learn it (like java, asp, and such). You pretty much have to find employment (possibly entry level at first) to get access and then progress from there. Either that or professional training. Some universities might offer courses but I would think the proprietary nature of this product would proclude such things. Most of the training is obtained through the Peoplesoft company. There are some online classes offered through the various forums out there (yahoo groups) but they assume you have access to a corporate poeplesoft environment.
