what is partitioning on ORACLE

not exactly accurate:
EE is the only edition which ships w/partitioning but it (partitioning) can be licensed "a la carte" as an add-on to standard. that being said I can't see why anyone would want to do this since most of the features standard to EE are ~50% the cose of EE each (to add to standard) but as a point of fact you don't have to have EE for partitioning.
