It's kind of hard to make a determination on this one without seeing the sql. I left my ODBC API manual at work (I'm on vacation). Send your SQL and I'll see if anything looks obvious.
If you are feeling really adventurous try doing an ODBC trace. You can do this from the ODBC administrator on the machine running the program. The trace is pretty cryptic but with some effort you might be able to nail down the column that your program is having a problem with.
