Hello,

I would like to know what else is needed other than the Lan card TN779b to do remote access into the definity switch . is there software needed and how does this all get setup ?

thanks,

NickCal

Hi. Assuming you have ASA you have all the tools you need. On the definity you have to set up the CLAN card. change node-names ip allows you to assign the ip address for the card. change ip-services allows you to set up terminal access via the card. Your entries on ip-services will be:
SAT,y,name,5010,any. The name will be the same on allocated to the card in node-names ip. Then set up the switch in ASA with Type = network, Dial/Host = ip address, Port = 5010.

This will only work with a VPN or securedial type access.

Good luck.

If you have custumer access to the INADS port you can use dialup and make it work.

ASA is "Avaya site Administration. Most everyone that remotely access their equipment uses this program. You should try to get a copy from your BP or Avaya to do this.
