what is inband signalling?

Inband signaling is signaling at the channel level, for example a DID that is set up wink start/ DTMF, that is signaling within the same band or channel. Out of band signaling is a PRI where all the signaling happens on the d-channel, ie, the signaling is taking place out of the band or channel.

Did PRI also have in-band signaling? or only DID R2 have?
